Abdiel Escoto is the founder of monoboard.ai and the owner of MONOBOARD Construction, a residential general contractor in metro Atlanta. He's spent the last several years running renovations, ground-ups, and high-end custom work across the city.
monoboard.ai started because the tools he needed didn't exist. Not the project-management ones. Not the accounting ones. Not the AI ones. So he started building them — and using them on his own jobs first.
Every product decision goes through one filter: would I run my own job on this? If the answer is no, we don't ship it.

What we believe.
Four things we hold to. Each one shapes a product decision somewhere in the codebase.
Operating GC as proving ground.
MONOBOARD Construction runs 26+ active residential projects in metro Atlanta. Every monoboard.ai feature is tested there before it ships to anyone else. If we wouldn't run our own jobs on it, we don't ship it.
Multi-party as first-class.
Most construction software is built for one party. GC tools. Owner tools. Designer tools. We built monoboard for the project — which means every party who shapes it. That's the wedge and that's the architecture.
Governance under the hood.
AI on a construction project is a liability if it acts without accountability. We publish an Agent Governance Constitution that names what the AI can do, what it can't, and how owners can audit every automated decision.
Atlanta-first, not Atlanta-only.
We're starting where we operate. The founder is on jobsites this week. Customer support is a phone call, not a ticket queue. As we expand, that bar doesn't drop.
Where we're going.
The next twelve months: harden the Atlanta cohort, prove the change-order wedge, and expand to residential GCs across the Southeast. The product roadmap is set by what kills jobs at MONOBOARD Construction — not by what trends on a SaaS Twitter thread.
